Soothing Gray SpinelTM
Spinel, the gem of royalty, has a centuries old history, its most famous sighting in the British Crown Jewels.
Spinel can be found in a variety of hues from bright candied apple red, rich and bold pink, and many shades of purple, blue, violet and bluish green.
Trace amounts of iron give spinel a violet to blue color and trace amounts of cobalt bring about vibrant blue.
Spinel, like garnet and diamond, is singly refractive, with the same physical properties in all crystal directions. It belongs to the cubic crystal system, and its characteristic crystal shape is an octahedron, looking like two back-to-back pyramids.
